Our commercial division is growing! In this role you will work with our existing, as well as prospective clients to assist them in applying the best solution to their HVAC needs. Meyer & Depew Co. is engaged in the light commercial segment of the HVAC market in central and northern New Jersey. 90% of our work is on HVAC systems with a capacity of 30 tons or less.

Important Qualifications and Required Skills:

Minimum 5-years experience in:

  • Sales of light-commercial HVAC systems including service plans
  • Performing cooling and heating load calculations for commercial applications
  • Laying out refrigerant and gas piping systems
  • Laying out duct systems to provide air flow matching that required by the load calculation.
  • Accurately estimating equipment, labor and materials costs

While not required, possession of a NJ Master HVAC/R Contractor's License is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Through every interface, collaboration with colleagues to ensure the team provides our clients with a world-class experience.
  • Provide clients with solutions for their HVAC needs.
  • Consult with potential and existing clients to provide a customized HVAC system solution including our exclusive maintenance program through sales agreement.
  • Serve as the leader of the sales process to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Conduct post-sale follow-up to ensure all sales agreements have been fulfilled to client satisfaction.
  • Follow-up with existing sales proposals and leads to offer any additional information as needed to convert them into sales.
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective clients. · Emphasize salable features, quotes, prices and credit terms and prepare sales orders for jobs sold.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Participate in various sales activities to support corporate efforts including, but not limited to, trade shows, referral groups, etc.
  • Ability to work under pressure and display a positive attitude towards work and be a team player.
  • Adhere to and promote the Company’s Core Values.
  • Self-motivated and must have initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; prioritize, organize, document information, keep accurate records and follow-up as necessary to complete client’s job accurately and on time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be (18) eighteen years of age or older.
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Pass background screening clearance for employment.
  • Posses a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years+ sales background.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Apple iPhone
  • Physical Requirements: Comfortable and capable of erecting and climbing ladders to access roof-top HVAC equipment. Most other job duties are performed in a sitting position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift objects.
  • Knowledge or experience in the commercial HVAC industry is required.
